Renovation of De Mirandabad in Amsterdam
De Mirandabad swimming pool in Amsterdam is undergoing a thorough renovation. The Zuideramstel urban district council has assigned Brakel Atmos to run the project in the capacity of principal contractors. The renovation will involve replacing the unique synthetic dome – which has a diameter of over 45 metres - with a glass dome construction. This is a considerable challenge as there are only a few of such roof constructions in the entire world.
Penitentiary
Electrical bridge with integrated sprinkler system
The central building of the penitentiary in Zwaag is flanked by two - mainly curved – glass roof constructions. Until recently, window washers and maintenance staff accessed the glass roofs by means of a steel bridge, which could be operated manually. When it became clear that the bridge no longer met current standards and could only be moved by means of excessive physical force, the issue of replacement came into play. A challenging and innovative project requiring an entirely new design. Brakel Atmos stepped up to the challenge. The Brakel Atmos building maintenance division developed a uniquely segmented, electrically powered bridge with an integrated sprinkler system. Brakel Atmos also took on the role of main contractor, coordinating all construction and installation work.
Railway Museum
